Diving Into Tech, One Inspiring Conversation at a Time
Last night, I attended my very first tech networking event; and I’m still riding the wave of energy and inspiration it brought with it. 💪 🤩
The event was SheMeets, a women-in-tech meetup beautifully hosted by Dee, and it was nothing short of uplifting. Walking in, I felt a mix of excitement and nerves. I wasn’t sure what to expect. Would I find people to talk to? Would I feel out of place as someone new to the industry? But those fears quickly melted away.
From the moment I arrived, the atmosphere was open, welcoming, and full of energy. I met so many talented women; developers, designers, and career-changers. All with different journeys but the same spark in their eyes. We shared stories, laughed a lot, and had genuinely meaningful conversations about our experiences in tech, the highs and lows, and what’s next for all of us.
What really stood out to me was the power of community. It’s one thing to read about women supporting women in tech; it’s another to feel it in real-time. There was no gatekeeping, no ego, just a group of incredible women showing up for each other with curiosity, honesty, and warmth.
As someone early in my career, events like this remind me that I’m not alone, and that there’s a whole community out there rooting for each other. I’m beyond grateful for that.
Huge shoutout to Dee for creating this space, and to everyone I met for being so kind, open, and inspiring. I’ll definitely be back for the next one!
New friends I can’t wait to catch up with again
Fresh motivation to keep pushing forward in my tech journey
A deeper sense of belonging in this space
If you’re new to tech (or just looking to connect with like-minded women in the industry), I highly recommend checking out SheMeets. You never know where one conversation might lead.
Here’s to more firsts, more connections, and more spaces where we all feel seen, heard, and empowered.
